Clayton High School coach Kenneth Stivason announced on Tuesday that Clayton High School will not be hosting the Greater Neuse River 4-A Men's Tennis Conference Tournament on Wednesday, April 23rd.   The first two rounds of singles will be played at Rolesville High School, and the first two rounds of doubles will be played at East Wake High School on Wednesday.   The singles and doubles semifinals and finals will be played at East Wake on Thursday.  Play begins both days at 1:00 p.m.

Newton-Conover High School, coached by Jason Barham, swept the singles, doubles, and team title at the annual Southern District 7 Conference Tournament April 16-17 on its home courts.    Ryen Reid won the singles championship while the team of Tyler Barrymore and Gordon Wepner took the doubles title.   The conference will be sending six singles players and six doubles teams to the Western 2-A Regional Tournament May 2-3 at Garder-Webb University.

Greene Central High School will be hosting the annual Eastern 2-A Regional Men's Tennis Tournament May 2-3 in Snow Hill.  Sixteen singles players and sixteen doubles teams will be competing for regional titles and spots in the NCHSAA 2-A State Championships.   Play begins at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 3rd.  The coaches will meet at 1:00 p.m. to complete seeding on May 3rd.

Cardinal Gibbons High School, coached by Andrew Tuttle, deated Chapel Hill 6-0 in a battle of the state's two top-ranked 3-A high school tennis teams on Monday, April 14th.    The Crusaders improved to 12-0 in league play and 20-4 overall with the victory.   Cardinal Gibbons has now won 139 consecutive conference matches, a streak that dates back to 2003.    This is the 11th consecutive conference title for the Crusaders, a streak which spans their membership in four different conferences.

South Brunswick topped West Brunswick 9-0 in a men's tennis match on Wednesday, April 16th.
